The background development and early evolution of wall ties was reviewed in two BRE Information Papers 16/88 and 17/88. This IP covers the further development over the last decade and anticipates the future CEN (European) standard, the draft EN 845-1, which embodies much of the philosophy of DD140 but, inevitably, modified to meet a consensus requirement of the 18 participating countries.
