INTRODUCTION TO THE MEASUREMENT PROCESS

This Information Paper discusses the construction process for the first stage of the Victorian Terrace refurbishment, from February to July 2010. The five-month process started with the structural works and ended with the internal fit-out of demonstration homes ‘B' and ‘C'. Part 2 focuses on the assessment of the construction efficiency of the refurbishment process through analysis of data collected. BRE's CALIBRE (Figure 1), a construction process measurement tool, was used to assess the efficiency and productivity of the construction process. Data analysis is provided for the project as a whole, but also for specific work packages including installation of new and innovative products. Charts illustrate the data and enable comparisons.
