Wireless and tagging technologies have been used in several sectors of the industry successfully and shown significant benefits to their users. Their potential for costs savings and productivity improvement for the construction industry is estimated to be in hundreds of millions of pounds. This paper gives the findings of a scoping study carried out to evaluate the potential for the use of information and communication technologies within the supply chain of the construction industry, and, in particular, in the logistics of construction related products.
