This specification covers 11 grades of polymer-modified cationic and anionic emulsified asphalt for use in pavement construction in the manner designated. The modifier may be either a solid or a latex polymer. The modifier may be added either to the asphalt binder or emulsifier solution prior to the emulsification process.
Note—See AASHTO M 140 for specifications covering emulsified asphalt other than cationic and AASHTO M 208 for specifications covering cationic emulsified asphalt.
