Based on a blend of experiment and experience, ACI 318 gives design and construction requirements for structural concrete buildings, and is widely adopted by reference in general building codes. The Commentary, ACI 318R, discusses some of the considerations of ACI Committee 318, including background details and references to much of the research data referred to in preparing the building code requirements.
