This specification defines the rules and procedures to be followed by a manufacturer wishing to become approved to manufacturer A|D|S standard parts that require qualification approval via the A|D|S Technical Standards Committee (TSC).
TS202 shall be invoked on a Product Standard that requires testing in accordance with a Technical Specification
The manufacturers and product standards they are approved to manufacture will be listed in A|D|S TS200 Qualified Manufacturers for A|D|S Aerospace Industry Standard Parts.
A|D|S welcomes new suppliers to the standards parts supply market. Potential new suppliers should consult the current issue of relevant A|D|S Product Standard to determine whether qualification is required.
A|D|S Product Standards that require qualification approval will call out a Technical Specification that defines the qualification and production acceptance testing which needs to be carried out. This ensures that a minimum quality and performance is achieved for the product regardless of manufacturer.
Products produced by different manufacturers shall be qualified to the same Product Standard. Regardless of manufacturing source; each product shall be fully interchangeable based on production batch acceptance criteria being achieved in accordance with Technical Specification requirements defined by that Product Standard.
Manufacturers who apply to the TSC to obtain product qualification shall have a current quality management system in accordance with BS EN/AS9100 awarded by an appropriate accredited organisation and shall be registered on the IAQG Oasis database.
A Mandated Body as appointed by the TSC shall witness qualification testing in accordance with the Product Standard and Technical Specification requirements, following the rules and procedures invoked by this Technical Specification.
The Qualification testing requirements are part of the A|D|S programme of voluntary standardisation and depends on the understanding of both the manufacturer and the user representative(s) that any information made available during these evaluations shall remain strictly confidential. Information shall ONLY be disclosed to the Mandated Body carrying out the qualification and members of the TSC.
