This publication provides guidelines for maintaining safe atmospheres inside pipes, holders, and other facilities that are to be purged into service or taken out of service. Purging data for inlet control pressures has been expanded from 15miles/34 inch pipe in the old table to 50 miles/48 inch pipe in the new table, through GRI (now GTI) funded research. Potential purging with CO2 is emphasized. The chapters on LP Gas facilities and Gas Analysis and Instrumentation also were updated.
