This recommended practice establishes a standardized set of requirements for use in the design of next generation satellite control systems to simplify them and make them more user friendly, operationally efficient, and cost effective. This document supports the goal of achieving standardization, interoperability, and efficiency of space systems operations. Specific attention is given to data entry, data display, sequence control, user guidance, data transmission, and data protection. The recommended practice should provide a common basis for civilian and military practice in space systems operations. Some military specific information is included in an appendix.
