ANS 2.8-2019 establishes a probabilistic approach to evaluate flood hazards at nuclear facilities. This standard, however, does not prescribe the design basis or acceptable level of risk for a specific flood hazard or set of flood hazards. The criterion for an acceptable level of risk for a nuclear facility is made by the applicable authority or regulatory body.
