This document provides 1) dimensional and thermal data for aircraft indicators and 2) thermal interface data between the indicators and their operating environment. These indicators may be complete in themselves or part of larger. systems incorporating remotely located equipment. In the latter instance, this specification is concerned only with the indicator portion of the system.

PURPOSE

Since the original issue of this specification in 1960, there has been a rapid growth in both the number of.types and in the complexity of the indicators used by the commercial air carriers. Because of this mushrooming growth it has been deemed desirable to establish standardized dimensions for the newer indicator configurations and to improve the reliability of indicators through improved thermal management.
