Document Purpose

This document defines the general architectural philosophy and interface data model for use with cabin equipment. Consistency with ARINC Specification 853 allows cabin systems to operate seamlessly with other CSMIM cabin equipment.

ARINC Specification 853, defines a standard application structure and data model for cabin devices. This cabin equipment consists of but is not limited to lighting, sensors, seats, and other cabin systems. A standard messaging structure is provided in the form of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) protocols, and message schemas. The intent is to make this specification more useful for effectively integrating cabin components across various communication mediums.
