a. The requirements of this manual apply to units, commands and installations of the US Army, US Army National Guard, and US Army Reserve. Requirements do not apply to subcommands, installations, and activities under direct control of the US Army Materiel Command (AMC)

b. Hazard Class/Divisions, storage compatibility groups, and other standards in this manual apply to United States and host country establishments in which U.S. owned ammunition and explosives are handled and stored. Host country agreements will apply when they are more restrictive than this manual. These requirements are also applicable to joint military civilian activities and facilities as set forth herein.

c. These requirements will not prevent an on scene EOD Commander from immediately rendering safe and disposing of ammunition and explosives when the safety of any person or property is endangered.

d. For general policies governing Department of the Army (DA) depot and installation storage and supply activity operations, see AR 740-1, AR 708-1, and AR 385-64. Refer to TM 750-244-5-1 for instructions on destruction of ammunition to prevent enemy use.
