Use this specification for new construction and building renovation projects for Army and Air Force projects. This specification is not typically used for Navy projects, but if the Army is administering a project for the Navy this specification can be used but must be coordinated through the Navy representatives and Navy Interior Designers for Navy specific requirements. Use this specification only when it has been determined by the Government that the Contractor will be responsible for the purchase and installation of the furniture. This specification can also be used for furniture purchases that are not associated with building construction. Following are exceptions:

- Do not use this specification for Army projects in which the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Huntsville Engineering and Support Center (HNC) will be purchasing and installing the furniture.
