Specifies requirements for sterilized individually packed hypodermic needles ranging in size from 0.31 mm to 0.50 mm in nominal external diameter. The needles are for single-use with a cartridge syringe for dental injection. Definitions, requirements for the needle tube such as composition, material, resistance to corrosion, dimensions and mechanical properties are laid down. Requirements for the hub and joint of needle tube with hub are also specified. Appendices include methods of test for pyrogens, particulate contamination and physical properties.
