Applies to dimensions and properties of both the deflected metal type and insert type locknuts, in diameters from 3 to 36 mm and strength grades 6, 8 and 10. Various protective finishes are specified, having regard to the friction characteristics of electro-deposited materials. An appendix specifies thin insert type locknuts in strength grades 04 and 06, and another appendix gives dimensions and properties of non-preferred sizes. This Standard has been based on and is compatible with ISO 2320 and 2358.
