Describes tests applicable to hollow insulators intended for use in electrical apparatus such as instrument transformers, surge diverters, capacitors, bushings, cable sealing ends and circuit-breakers. The tests include visual inspection of the surfaces, verification of dimensions, electrical test, porosity test and temperature cycle test. Guidance is also given in regard to acceptable surface finish and to the selection of tolerances on the various dimensions.
