Relates to standard grade cold-reduced electrolytic tinplate and cold-reduced blackplate in sheet form, in nominal thicknesses from 0.20 mm to 0.60 mm, but does not apply to double-reduced material or material described as tinned sheets, steel sheets or TFS. It provides for steel types L, MR, stabilized and nitrogenized, and for four surface finishes for tinplate and two for blackplate. Composition, tolerances, tin coating mass, identification and packaging are specified. Appendices cover purchasing guidelines, the iodine method for determining tin coating mass, Rockwell HR 30 T test values, line marking system for differentially-coated tinplate.
