Deals with application of a water-repellent solution for the purpose of inhibiting water absorption by rain wetting or changes in moisture content during changes in air humidity. The treatment also aims to control end-grain penetration of moisture and retard end-splitting and joint failure. The code deals with treating methods, treating requirements and the condition of the water-repellent solution at the time of application. The quality and characteristics of the solution are specified in AS 1608.
