Applies to polyethylene pipes for use in gas mains and services for direct burial and reliner applications. Such pipe is intended for use in the distribution of natural gas at pressures up to 450kPa. It also applies to pipe for use with liquefied petroleum gas (LP gas) and mixtures of LP gas and air where the partial pressure of the LP gas componenet does not exceed 200 kPa. This specification does not apply to pipe for use with petroleum liquids including liquid LP gas and liwuid pentane, or with manufactured or mixed gas distribution systems or systems which may contain more than 1 percent aromatics.
