Applies to the design, construction, installation and operation of air-handling systems, as related to precautions to prevent the spread of fire through buildings by way of the air-handling systems, i.e. ventilation or air-conditioning systems, in buildings which are required to be fire protected by the Regulatory Authority. The Code prescribes mandatory safety requirements for invocation by Local Government and Statutory Authorities and specifies requirements for design, construction, installation and operation of systems, and precautions to prevent the spread of fire by way of systems which come within the application of the Code.
