Specifies coatings on metallic materials for electrical, electronic and other engineering applications in a range of preferred thicknesses of silver from 2 to 40 micrometres. Thickness of copper and/or nickel undercoat for various base metals is given, and coating requirements are specified for appearance, thickness, silver content, adhesion and corrosion resistance. Appendices include procedures for thickness tests, adhesion tests and corrosion tests, a recommended electroplating practice, methods of analysis for the electrolyte, and sampling procedures for coated items.
