Specifies washers suitable for use in normal, over-the-thread applications, and also for use as a washer component of a screw and captive washer assembly. It covers washers in a diameter range 5-10 mm, in both a normal and a large outside diameter series intended for use with bolts and screws of strength grade 8.8 with metric coarse pitch series threads only. A type of washer with six or more equally spaced teeth around the outer periphery for electrical grounding or added slip resistance purposes is also included as an optional type. It gives dimensional, material, mechanical property, finish and testing requirements, and also testing procedures.
