Sets out the essential requirements for the issue of a test certificate and, when required, the checking and reissue of certificates in amended form, from data obtained in full compliance with standard test methods. It is applicable to testing operations for wool base, vegetable matter base and fibre diameter. It also sets out the maximum range permitted of subsample and test specimen measurements if a test certificate is to be issued, and action to be taken if measurements are outside these limits. It also defines the procedure to follow if an error in a test certificate is suspected. The appendix gives guidance on testing operations for staple length and strength.
