Automatic pressure cycled gas-powered resuscitators, electrically-powered resuscitators, devices which are designed only to deliver gases to a patient breathing adequately, and devices intended to assist or provide ventilation to a patient for an extended period of time are not covered. The Clauses of this Standard supplement or modify the corresponding Clauses in ISO 8382:1988.
