The method is applicable to ambient air containing oxides of nitrogen at a concentration of less than 1 ppm by volume (less than 1 mL/m(sup)3(/sup)). Nitric oxide (NO) and total oxides of nitrogen (NO(sub)x(/sub)) may be measured.
