Specifies a method for the design of circular tubeplates used in shell and tube heat exchangers and in some types of boilers. It is intended to be used in conjunction with AS 1210, SAA Unfired Pressure Vessels Code, and, as moments, stresses, and deflections across the tubeplate are determined by this method, it may also be used with AS 1210 Supplement 1. The method is applicable to longhand calculations, but its most effective use will be achieved by programming a computer. An appendix provides an algorithm to assist in computer programming, as well as a suggested worksheet and worked examples.
