This specification applies to rechargeable portable fire extinguishers of the dry chemical type. It provides for two types, viz.: (i) the gas container type, in which the dry chemical is expelled by the pressure of gas released from a compressed gas container; and (ii) the stored pressure type, in which the dry chemical is expelled by pressure of gas or air stored under pressure in the bodyof the extinguisher. The specification refers to materials, methods of manufacture and performance of the extinguisher and also of the compressed gas container.
