This Standard specifies vulcanized rubber joint rings for use in mains conveying such fluids as town gas, coal gas, water gas, natural gas, water and sewage. It does not apply to lead-tipped rubber gaskets for use in mains conveying gas (for which see AS A145 and AS A146).
