Applies to hard-drawn steel wire suitable for cross welding, and intended for use as such or in fabricated form for the reinforcement of concrete. It specifically excludes hard-drawn high tensile steel wire for prestressed concrete, which is covered by AS A141. The wire specified herein is normally available in standard wire gauges not greater than 7/0 (0.500 in; 12.7 mm) and not less than 12 (0.104 in; 2.64 mm).
