This Standard sets out a general test procedure for determining and verifying the power output rating of - (i) reciprocating and other internal combustion engines fo the spark ignition type, and (ii) reciprocating and other compression ignition (diesel) engines, capable of delivering power up to 200 shaft horsepower through a shaft or shafts, and intended for general agricultural, commercial and industrial purposes. The standard does not apply to gas turbine engines, nor does it apply to the rating of engines when mounted in or direct-coupled to machines or equipment.
