Gives full instructions for setting out of tooth profiles of milling cut ters for gears of standard 20 degrees pressure angle type. The standard group of 8 cutters, and the special group of 15 cutters (1 to 8 increasing by half sizes) are covered with help of tables and diagrams. 14 1/2 degrees pressure a ngle cutters, are similarly provided for in an appendix. A special table of reductions in gear tooth thickness, necessary when milled gears are required to mesh with generated gears, is also given in an appendix. Other appendices deal with arbor and keyway sizes, marking of cutters, ordering instructions and metric sizes.
