Specifies material requirements for six grades of weldable quality carbon steel, in addition to two grades of steel, with minimum yield stress ranging from 26 000 lbf/in(sup)2 to 45 000 lbf/in(sup)2. The design formula for calculating minimum thickness of wall and end is given, together with details of test requirements for the parent metal and the welded joint. A hydrostatic test on the cylinder is required and a burst test on selected cylinders. (For new cylinders refer to AS 2470).
