Applies to rotary power lawnmowers of the walk-behind type intended for domestic use. where appropriate, the requirements may also be applied to rotary power lawnmowers of the ride-on type. It deals primarily with those construction and design features which are of importance for the safety of the operator and bystanders and includes tests to assess the general robustness and durability of a lawnmower. It does not include performance requirements for the power unit other than those necessary to ensure that the lawnmower will comply with the test requirements of this specification. The specification does not apply to cylinder type power lawnmowers.
