This specification includes air-break switches for use on D.C and on A.C. at frequencies up to 50 cycles per second (unless otherwise marked) whether open-type, totally-enclosed or flameproof. Except for mining purposes, it is not intended to include switches for use with Series Motors or Traction Circuits, which may require a higher breaking capacity than is here specified.
