This Standard gives requirements for aluminium stranded and solid conductors of both circular and shaped section in insulated cables. The shaped solid conductors in This Standard are intended for 660/1100 V and 1900/3300 V cables only. The standard is concerned only with the conductor in the finished cable. Reference should be made to AS C407 and AS C408 for requirements for the wire or solid conductors used in the manufacture of the cable, and to the appropriate standards for requirements for bare aluminium conductors for other electrical purposes.
