This Standard sets out a method of measurement applicable to all classes of fixed resistors used in circuits where current noise is critical, e.g. in some low-singal-level audio and other low-frequency circuits. It is not intended to be a general specification requirement. This Standard does not apply to the measurement of current noise in resistors of resistance value below 100 ohms. Where required, however, an attachment is available to permit measurement of current noise down to 10 ohms.
