This Standard applies to unused insulating oil, as delivered in tank wagons or drums, suitable for the immersion or filling of transformers, switchgear, and certain other electrical equipment in which oil is required as an insulant or for heat transfer. It does not apply to high viscosity oils, to oils required for cables or capacitors, or to oils for special impregnation purposes.
