This specification applies to a.c. and d.c., and universal electric motors of any continuous rating up to and including 1 h.p. per 1000 rev/min (synchronous speed for a.c. motors), and to a.c. and d.c. generators of any continuous rating up to and including 750 watts or volt amperes per 1000 rev/min. Short-time rated machines having an equivalent continuous rating to the above are also included.
