This method applies to the measurement of the effectiveness of a material in reducing resonant response of metal panels to audio frequency vibration. The method, which is based on the Geiger Thick Plate method, is intended primarily for testing sprayable car body deadeners. With suitable modifications it may, however, be used to test other materials such as carpet and rubber mat.
