Defines performance requirements for an instrument intended for routine analysis of sugar cane juices, sugars, and products in sugar mill and refinery laboratories and in other sugar laboratories, and having a range of measurement of not less than -20 degrees ISS +120 degrees ISS. Conditions of operation are enumerated and reference is made to construction, electronic and optical components, cells, readout, operation, accuracy, precision, temperature effects and servicing and maintenance. As a guide in servicing, the location of all Australian sugar mills, refineries and laboratories is shown on a map.
