This specification applies to electroplated coatings of nickel plus chromium and nickel alone on steel, zinc-alloy, copper or copper alloys, and aluminium or aluminium alloys, but excluding the following coatings: (i) coatings applied to components having threads of basic major diameter from 0.06 in. to 0.75 in; (ii) coatings applied to sheet, strip, wire in the unfabricated form, or coil springs; (iii) coatings applied for engineering purposes.
