AS L9-1970 PDF

This Standard provides a scheme for designating the sizes of all ready-made garments for women shich should meet the needs of a very high proportion of Australian women. The scheme can also be used by the paper-pattern making industry for home dressmaking. The standard scheme is presented in the form of two charts. One chart gives average sizes to cover all garments other than fitted dresses and two-piece suits (which must fit both the upper and lower parts of the body in combination). The second chart provides for slim hip fittings and full hip fittings in combination with the bust measurement under the same size coding. In this chart only the bust and hip measurements are shown as the wast measurement is not considered critical.
