Specifies requirements for test tubes used for fermentation, agglutination and general bacteriological work. The tubes are graded by a test for free alkali; the special grade is suitable for use where alkali leached from the glass might affect the results of work, and the ordinary grade for general bacteriological work. All the fourteen sizes specified are available in a round-bottom form with either beaded or square top; two of these are used for agglutination and one of the agglutination tubes is also available in the 'Dreyer' shape, with tapered bottom and flared top.
