This edition refers to more than 50 Australian Standards, as well as many other international and overseas Standards. It has been expanded to include additional chapters on general principles for personal protection and the identification of common hazards likely to be encountered in the workplace as well as general control measures for their reduction. It also takes account of less common hazards such as ionizing and non-ionizing forms of radiation. Existing material dealing with the use of personal protective equipment for the prevention of injury to the whole body or individual parts such as head, eye, limb and respiratory system has been revised to take account of increased knowledge and changing technology.
