Scope and fielcl of application

This standard defines a method for the determination of the apparent inter laminar shear by deteramination of unidirectional carbon fibre reinforced thermosetting resin composites produced in sheet form for aerospace use.

It is intended for unidirectional specimens in which the length is parallel to the fibre direction.

Note : This method can equally be applied t o fabrics. In the case of cross plied laminates comprising layers orientated in different ways, the formula given in clause 1O'is only a nominal value and shall only be used to compare tests carried out on identical layups.
