This Standard provides system designers with recommended practices for the measurement of mass flow rate of volatile refrigerants using flow meters. It applies to systems where the entire flow stream of the volatile refrigerant both enters and exits either as a "vapor only" or “liquid only” state. The Standard covers all refrigerants listed in the ASHRAE Fundamentals Handbook 2001 and in ASHRAE Standard 34-1997.
