Alcoa C238 is a cold-finished aluminum wrought product developed for applications requiring postbrazing and welding strength. The alloy has good machinability and roll-threading characteristics. It has slightly lower corrosion resistance as compared to 6xxx series alloys. Alloy C238 has excellent welding and very good brazing properties. Initial applications include fittings and connectors that are brazed and/or welded. This product is also available in cold-heading rod that has been used to cold-form connectors.
