Since 1952, Alloy Digest has been the leading reference for materials property data on metals and alloys used throughout the world. Featuring graphs, charts and tables, these sheets give facts and figures on composition or characterization, physical and mechanical properties, heat treatment, and machinability.

Bismuth-Lead 55-45 is a bismuth-base eutectic alloy that melts at 255 F. It furnishes scientists and engineers with an easily castable material that is ready for use as soon as it freezes. It can be recovered readily and recycled into new uses any number of times. Its many uses include non-shrinking patterns, proof-casting, sealing heat-treating furnaces and bending large tubes (diameter greater than 13/4 inches).
