Copper Alloy No. 838 is a free-cutting copper-base alloy for castings. It was formerly identified as Commercial Red Brass or 83-4-6-7 alloy. It offers an excellent combination of corrosion resistance, machinability, moderate strength and good casting characteristics. Its wide use includes such applications as plumbing goods, ornaments and marine hardware.
