METGLAS Alloy 2605S-2 is an amorphous iron-base soft magnetic alloy designed for extremely low core loss at distribution and power transformer frequencies and inductions. If offers improved performance over METGLAS Alloy 2605SC (Alloy Digest, February 1982) at the higher operating temperatures (100 C) of these devices. Alloy 2605S-2 has a lower temperature coefficient of saturation than Alloy 2605SC. Applications include power transformers and other devices operating at low frequencies.
